"His family helped him build the ark. Every day it rose higher and higher."
Do some hammering! I saw a really cute idea for hammer practice for Littles, but it's all over the internet so I don't know who deserves the credit! I bought a small block of styrofoam and some golf tees for him to use as "wood" and "nails". My son has a toy hammer that he used, but a fat marker could also be used to pound the nails in. After he played with it for awhile, I wrapped the styrofoam in brown construction paper, used a black marker to draw some bark squiggles, and it was "new" again for some more hammering!
"God called to the animals, and from aardvark to zebra they came."
Load the Ark! We don't have "two" of everything, but we do have a ton of stuffed animals! We built an "ark" out of couch cushions and pillows, and then boarded all the animals. My son had fun playing in the fluff pile and "driving" the boat. It was a fun coincidence that it happened to be raining outside while we were playing!
